Latent Expressions

As a PhD researcher working in artificial intelligence (AI) field, I’ve always been fascinated by the potential for technology to serve purposes beyond pure computational advancement. When I began collaborating with Pei-Han Lin on what would become the “Latent Expressions” project, I discovered firsthand how AI research can transform into a medium for social commentary and political discourse. Pei-Han brought to our collaboration an artistic vision that spans multiple disciplines—from painting and sculpture to installation and sound art—all unified to address pressing issues of politics, environmental justice, and human rights. ...

Smart Charge

I joined the Smart Charge Project in 2020 during the system development and validation phase. This Interreg-funded collaboration between UiT, Narvik, and The Lapland University of Applied Sciences in Rovaniemi, Finland, provided an opportunity to apply advanced predictive modeling techniques to real-world energy management challenges in Arctic environments. The project’s focus on integrating electric mobility with smart home technology presented unique, real-world datasets and modeling requirements that aligned with my research interests (at the time) in time series prediction and energy system optimization. ...
